Jennifer Valentina

Jennifer Valentina settled in Utah initially due to her love of animals. After obtaining her second college degree in Zoo Animal Technology in Florida she moved to Utah in 1999 to work at the Tracy Aviary. 15 years later she retired from animal care to spend more time with her young children. It did not take long for Jennifer to get back out into the workplace where she tried her hand at teaching and even delivering the mail. When a position opened up at Pearson Butler in reception, she tapped into her experience working reception at a doctor’s office in college and quickly became indispensable to the law firm and by extension, Elysium. She spent five years as the Billing Specialist for Elysium. While this work kept her busy, it didn’t fulfill her need to be helping clients directly. When the opportunity to be the Funding Coordinator was presented to her, she jumped at the chance. Now she spends her days helping clients bridge the gap between their Estate Plans and their retirement and investment goals.

Ryan Carrington

Ryan’s passion for investing was sparked during an internship at a hedge fund while in college—an experience that set the foundation for his career in investment banking and asset management. Over the years, he has managed assets for institutional clients, private wealth platforms, and family offices, developing a deep expertise in constructing investment strategies suitable for the needs of his clients.

Ryan joined Elysium to apply his institutional investment management experience in a way that more directly impacts individuals and families. His approach is rooted in two key principles: First, a client’s trust must be earned. Second, every solution and service should be designed with the client’s best interests at heart.

Ryan’s business philosophy was shaped early on by watching his father conduct business with integrity and by running his own window-washing company while in college. These experiences instilled in him the importance of fostering strong client relationships and delivering real value—lessons that have only strengthened throughout his career.

Ryan holds a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). When he’s not advising clients and investing on their behalf, he loves spending time with his family. He also has a passion for playing tennis and has enjoyed playing on courts all over the world.

Dr. Jill Floden, DBA, MSL
COO, CCO

Dr. Floden provides dynamic leadership as a COO & CCO with over two decades of experience and expertise in organizational leadership, regulatory compliance, ethics, risk management and business strategy. With a passion for AI research, innovation, and efficiency, she leverages academic insight with real-world experience to drive sustainable growth and ensure robust compliance frameworks. She holds her FINRA Series 7, 63, 65, 24, and 53, along with state insurance licenses. She holds a doctorate in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a research focus on the leadership of organizational AI. She received her Master Study of Law in Organizational Ethics and Compliance from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and dual Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Outside of work, Jill enjoys the outdoors and traveling with her friends and family.

Taylor Waldron
Funding Coordinator

Taylor works with Elysium Wealth Management to assist clients in funding their trusts, ensuring their estate plan is secure and functional. Prior to this role, she graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Fine Arts. She began a career in education that taught her communication, adaptability, and patience. She developed a love for helping people that has translated into providing personalized service for each and every client. Beyond the office, she enjoys quality time with her family and cat, as well as pursuing her love of painting and reading.

John Bergquist, CFF®
President of Financial Services

John began his investment career in 2000 as a planner with Transamerica. John is a Certified Financial Fiduciary® (CFF), and has his Series 65 and Life & Health Insurance licenses. He is passionate about educating individuals and families regarding their finances. John finds it rewarding to help his clients reach their financial goals and aspirations, plan for their future retirement, and help them avoid financial pitfalls. John is known for giving his clients the greatest of care and views each one of them as dear friends. His writings have been published in many news outlets including Forbes, MSN Money, Yahoo! Finance, U.S. News & World Report, Investopedia and more. John lives in Riverton, Utah with his wife and 6 children. He is an avid sports fan and spends his free time cheering on his children at their various sporting events.

Alan Fletcher

Alan began his career in finance in 2015 with Farmers Insurance Agency and transitioned to Lift Financial in early 2020. Emma joined Elysium in May 2022, bringing with her a strong background in communication, organization, and attention to detail from her previous role as a medical assistant. Her passion for working one-on-one with clients and seeing the impact of personalized guidance has driven her to play a key role in client relations and business operations.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats. She loves traveling, quilting, and crafting.
